Doc Doc Doctor Beat?

What shoe to wear when the weather is:
AND the subway is a 10min walk from where you live...
A high heel is not an option.
A sneaker isn't either: they get wet in the rain or snow... or whatever weather type makes your shoes wet.
The only recommendable shoe is a heavy boot.
Preferably a leather one, with a thick sole, anti-slip !!!, and comfortable so you can walk for hours...
That shoe is, ladies and gentlemen, a Doc Marten!
I'd never thought I was going to wear them ever again.
Up until my sister got a million pairs sent to her... for free... I got to choose my own pair ! (3 pair in total!!) and I was as happy as a new born child...
I mean... I was as happy as a little child when meeting santa...
Although... when I met Santa, I was probably crying again because I was scared of that big fat guy that wanted to grab me...
So lets just keep it at: I was very happy.
Find below pictures of my new babies...
I am definitely not trying to make a fashion statement here, because firstly: the Doc Marten rage from a season ago (if you can call it a rage) is already over, and secondly: when it's cold and snowing and just unbearable outside, you just got to try and survive...
Like they say in the news here: "Stay indoors!!!! But if you have to go outside: bundle up!! dress in layers!!!!
(I'm telling you: here in the states they are scared of mother nature. They'd do anything to keep the people inside and watch tv so they can get into the people's minds and mess them up with stupid news, commercials and lots of series..... don't worry, i love tv shows... I just thought I'd be a bit more "deep" and throw some thinking in the mix instead of only talking about shoes and stuff...)

The Visionaire party was not your regular Christmas party.
It was celebrated at this Cabaret/Burlesque bar: The Box.
Among the guests were Linda Evangelista, who was sitting right next to me... hihi
My impressions...

This is Hans sitting next to Linda and giving the thumbs up... ha

The Alexander Wang sale and Chloe sale are the only sales I have surrendered myself and gave into the shopping madness...
But, I am very happy with what I bought and It's a good choice.
No regrets!

I bought the best jeans ever at Alexander Wang. Maybe a bit too pricy still, but def. a pair I will wear forever!
(that's what I always say...)

At the chloe sale I bought the black version of the white leather jacket and the white pants.
90% discount.... Now THAT is a lot of percent!
1 season, 2 seasons or even 3 seasons ago... I don't care... It's gorgeous!

Work work work and lots of play

While people are working hard every day to make a living,
I can say I do the same.
However, one difference, I am ALWAYS surrounded by beautiful things.
Models, Make Up products, clothes, shoes....
So, in between work duty, I can play and pretend I am filthy rich and that all those clothes are MINE...
which one day will be true!

It's that time of the year almost... THE most exciting time of  the year!!!
In NY sales already started ... Unfortunately, I have to wait until January to buy myself a treat.
Waiting for the minus 80% or something. haha... but oh so true.
Below are my most favorites! Pierre Hardy. Colorful and most of all comfortable.
How do I know??
I went to Barney's last week and tried 20 pairs of shoes... These stood out as extremely fitting my style and my foot! Almost a running shoe... ;)
They're mine soon.

The boot here below is a good shoe for my winter outfits.
This Dries shoe would be great for my summer outfits OR a good spring time shoe...

Face, Neck, ... why not NeckFace?

Who's the famoust?
Who's the coolest?
Who's the ruler of them all???

It gots to be NEckFAce!!

If you have no clue who he is, then I will let you know now.
He's a Graffiti artist. Sticker artist. A street artist.
Whatever you want to name it.

He even made it already into Wikipedia, where they say he's is "known for his frightening drawing style"

The Confirming Friend's point of view: he makes the streets look more interesting...
Here a tag I came across on Spring & Varick

If there is one food in the world I love... it's lentils.
Not just soup, but just lentils! I don't know why... I just love it.

What's so good about them:
With 26% protein, lentils have the third highest level of protein from any plant-based food after soybeans and hemp.
Lentils also contain dietary fiber, Folate, vitamin B1, and minerals.
It has even been selected as one of the five healthiest foods.
Lentils are one of the best vegetable sources of iron. This makes them an important part of a vegetarian diet, and useful for preventing iron deficiency.
(You need to protect you against bacterial infection, it's essential to red blood cells...)

I was reading a book about nutrition.
And I read something disturbing.
Because vegetarians eat a lot of lentils to replace meat with, they can actually get a zinc deficiency.
Well, because the high amount of folate in lentils, the folate combines, the minerals and zinc and other stuff together and gets rid of them instead of keeping them IN the body...
And Zinc is something you really need.
Not enough zinc means: mood swings, menstruating irregularly, bad teeth...

Confusing. Right????
The Confirming Friend says: think before you eat too many lentils...
