Feeling hot hot hot

It's hot. Very hot for belgian standards.
I'm so warm and sweaty, I can't even think what to write on my blog... (lame excuse...)
ok... I admit:
I've also been EXTREMELY lazy!
We had a 10 days festival over here, and it was a good one this year.
Not as good as like I used to do when I was 20 (I didn't come home for 10 days and I lost 5 kilo's), but it was a nicely filled 10 days of fun, with 3 days of going hardcore... wa!ha!ha!haaa!

How to cool off:
* Get an A/C. Too expensive?? Get a fan!...
BUT our grand parents used to live without. So what to do when it's really hot and you're outside:
* Find water. water to drink.
Open the tap, buy a Brita. It's a water filter system you can either put on your tap or you can buy a can and fill it with tap water. The Brita filters tap water from bad stuff ( You don't use plastic bottles, so it's much better for the environment. The Confirming Friend loves nature!
Drink water to cool off.
* Find water. water to swim.
Go to the beach. If you're in Belgium, I've always loved to go to Knokke. And I ALWAYS used to go to Knokke Zoute. But only recently, I discovered that in Duinbergen (which is next to Knokke), the beach is as good as Knokke Zoute AND cheaper!
You don't get rich by spending money, but by saving money. (I think i have Jewish in my blood)
Salt water is not only good to cool down, but it heals cuts and wounds (if you would have them) AND it's also good for the skin.
* Wear a wet shirt. Wear a wet headpiece. Wet the sleeves of your t-shirt, and then every time there's a breeze, you cool off.
* Eat Smart.
Smaller meals with less protein will reduce metabolic heat.
* Mint. To cool your skin: lotion with peppermint, shower with peppermint soap, use a minty foot soak, and powders with mint. Mint refreshes the skin and leaves a nice cooling sensation.
Peppermint tea! yumm!!
* Eat Spicy Food. It's not a coincidence that many people in hotter regions of the world eat spicy food.
Spicy food increases perspiration which cools the body as it evaporates.
* Sweat it all out!!
Sweat is good. Sweat cools you down when you stand in a little breeze... (Just use deodorant)
Go to the sauna during winter. It's good to stand the cold. It's good to stand the heat.
* Lastly: just think: I'm not hot. I'm cold...
The Confirming Friend thinks like that about everything!!
I'm not hot, I'm cold.
I'm not poor. I'm rich.
I'm not tired. I'm awake!

The Confirming Friend loves Berlin.
If you are not looking at the buildings with all that history they're carrying, then you should just open a menu and read the dishes out loud.... I am telling you, Germans have the craziest language.

A fruit that sounds like from a fairytale.
It's red on the outside and white on the inside.
It contains little black seeds just like kiwi's ...

What would it be??


Dragon fruit!!

I got the pleasure here in Berlin of eating Dragon fruit!!
What to know about the heavenly fruit:

They are rich in Vitamins. Especially vitamin C.
They are rich in fiber and minerals: notibly phosphorus and calcium.
They are rich in Phytoalbumins (???!!!) and these things are famous for their antioxidants.
They are sweet and low in calories and that's why they're good for diabetics.

The Confirming Friend says: eat up!! The taste is there and it's subtle. That's why I like it so much because you have to find the sweet taste. It's a slow fruit.... not a fast fruit... ... ...

Von Jet Lag

Like I said in my last post, I have been a bit jet lagged and out of my routine.
It's alright when you don't have a job and can relax... But when you have to perform and work your ass of, a jetlag is NOT funny.

Things to know about a jetlag and how to get rid of it easily:
* Your body needs to recover one full day for one hour time difference!!
* Be fit. Getting on a plane tired and exhausted is not good. Get enough sleep and don't stress out before getting on the plane. It's a good thing to be a bit earlier than a bit late.
* All you drunken sailors: leave the alcohol! Alcohol works stronger on a plane and you will sep off drunk and hung over... Nothing worse than start your day with a headache...
* Don't get me wrong, food is good... But getting 5 meals on a 20 hour flight is not necessary!!
Your body doesn't digest the food well, because you don't have enough room and you're not really moving. That can cause serious stomach and colon problems, which is one of the reasons for a jetlag.
* The pressure in the plane and the dry air is not so good. It causes headaches, dry skin and throath. DRINK WATER!!! MOISTURIZE!!!! 
Who cares you need to run to the toilet 100000 times?? Think about the future of your face!!!
* People who live irregularly won't get affected by a jetlag so much, than people who're on schedule.

ich bin ein berliner

I have to admit. I haven't been of any use lately with posting up stuff on my informing blog about ... stuff.
I have a reason:
* jetlag
* sadness about the jetlag
* Hugo Boss show at Berlin fashion week
and it's the last one that already drives me a tiny bit crazy.
But besides working like a mad woman for the show, whilest adjusting to the belgian life style again, I am going to the Berlin fashion week.
You should also go!
Reasons why:
it's another fashionweek. NY, Milan, Paris is NOT enough twice a year...
it's about fashion. and fashion designers. and fashion clothes.
it's watching models walk fashionshows.
it's going to the after parties of fashionshows.
it's in berlin.... checking out, like, culture stuff and, like, fashion

What else can I say that will involve the word Fashion???
