Iron my face

Laughing, Frowning, Crying, ... just using your face for F*** sake!

Stay inside and sunscreen 100000 OR become taliban fan.
No partying
No laughing, No Thinking, No Crying, No Talking.

Or you can read all about it on:

Learn about the 3 layers of skin:
1st. The Epidermis = outerlayer = the barrier to external environment
2nd. The Dermis = second layer = contains the connective tissue. Types: collagen for strength, Elastin fibers for elasticity.
These 2 layers interact and it's important. Nutrients to the outerlayer are received from the bottomlayer.
3rd. Subcutaneous tissue. the fat cells.

The Confirming Friend says to read it, learn about it and protect that most important and biggest organ!

Marina vs Marina

I'll start with the good Marina.
Her name is Marina Perez.
She's with IMG.
And she is one of my most favorite models.
Below, she is wearing an incredible blouse from the Winter RTW08 Proenza Schouler collection.
What a gorgeous face... She looks like a little ghost... On top of that, she has the best personal style and she's sweet and intelligent.... I wish I was her ...

Now... let's talk about the other type of Marina...
Anyone from Belgium, knows what a marina is (male version is ronny).
In Holland they call them Anita's, in London Kevins, in Sydney Westies.... and so on and so on...
It's a type of person that comes close to the one displayed below.
She has big hair, skimpy or '5 years ago' style in clothes, not forgetting to mention her 'superb' taste in shoes, often has a french manicure, loves tuned cars and the guys who drive them, and usually works in a shop like Morgan.
Everyone who knows the Confirming Friend knows that she adores marina's and ronnies.

Hair Hair Hair

Elize Crombez by Tom Munro

Don't we all want to have hair like this...
The confirming friend surely does.

I've used to have so much hair, my sister went crazy when she wanted to do my hair...
It was long, curly and thick.
By the age of seventeen, it started to fall out. I colored it black several times, I started to diet, I started to party... a lot... haha and I took the pill.... so many things could have caused it...
My boss in Paris used to say I had only 3 hairs on my head... which was almost true...
To this day, my hair still didn't recover completely... Although it's getting better! Read my tips for more and better hair.

What causes hair loss? (
Hormonal changes
emotional trauma
Stresses placed on the body may also cause a woman's hair to jump ship. For example, crash dieting
Thinning hair or hair loss can be a sign of a problem in the gastrointestinal tract. It could be a sign of insufficient stomach acids.

What can cure hair loss: (
A wholesome diet, rich in silica, calcium and iron, will help reduce or prevent hair loss.
Green, leafy vegetables, especially sea vegetables, are good mineral sources.
Raw oats provide silica.
Dried fruits and cherry juice are rich sources of iron.
It could also mean a deficiency of protein, zinc and other nutrients.
Eat plenty of iron-rich foods, like liver - VOMIT VOMIT :( - and other organ meat, whole grain cereals, dark green leafy vegetables, eggs, dates, and raisins
Soy protein: tofu, soymilk, low-fat cheese, eggs, fish, beans, brewer's yeast and yogurt
Vitamin C: fruits and vegetables
Vitamin E: avocados, nuts, seeds, and olive oil
Another important nutrient for hair health is SILICA: (
Silica works by stimulating your cell metabolism and formation, which slows the aging process.
Foods that are rich in silica are rice, oats, lettuce, parsnips, asparagus, onion, strawberry, cabbage, cucumber, leek, sunflower seeds, celery, rhubarb, cauliflower, and swiss chard.

For men, balding process can be slowed down by taking a low-fat diet.
high-fat, meat-based diet raises testosterone levels, and that may adversely affect hair follicles

All about Tea

White Tea - as in: a black tea with milk:
Drinking tea with milk and sugar was a result of tea being very expensive and using the milk as a filler. Only the aristocracy was able to afford black tea straight.
The Confirmin Friend feels like an aristocrate though :)
She drinks 2 cups in the morning.

Osmanthus Tea:
(it's a yellow flower) helps to improve skin beauty, nourish lungs, excrete inner toxin, and relieve food induced gastritis. Also benefits to the nerve system. (Flower Wish Tea - China)
And The Confirming Friend drinks 2 large mugs a day.

Pu-Erh Tea:
"Drinking pu-erh tea is purported to aid in digestion, reduce blood cholesterol and lipid levels. It is also widely believed in Chinese cultures to counteract the unpleasant effects of heavy alcohol consumption. In traditional Chinese medicine, the tea is believed to invigorate the spleen and inhibit "dampness." In the stomach, it is believed to reduce heat and "descends qi".
There are widely proposed explanations include that the tea increases the drinker's metabolism, or that the high tannin content in the tea binds macronutrients and coagulate digestive enzymes, thus reducing nutrient absorption. Although evidence is still sparse, it has been shown that rats experience reduction in body weight, blood triglycerides, and blood cholesterol following a diet containing pu-erh tea." wikipedia
The Confirming Friend drinks 1 large mug a day. In the morning. Or she doesn't sleep well... :(

Chai Tea - latte:
on a Saturday, I always drink my skim chai latte.
It has the same amount of caffeine as coffee.
Originally from India, Iran. Chai there means just Tea. Where as in the Western world, we think of it as Massala Chai: spiced tea.
The Confirming friend loves it.
1 chai latte on Saturday. (Or/And Sunday)

Jeepers .. Oh My Creepers!

We all know these shoes for years and years now.
Started in the 1950's with the rise of the Rockabilly and the Teddy Boy youth subcultures. Very known in the US and the UK.
Invented by a guy called George Cox in 1949 - !!!
In the 1970's, this shoe got re-released by Malcolm McLaren when he started selling them again in his London Let it Rock shop... Malcolm McLaren and his partner: Vivienne Westwood (yes yes... the ubercoolest quirkiest granny in fashion) decided that not only the rockabillies should be wearing those shoes, so they changed their shop into more rocker-orientated shop.
Creepers got picked up by many other subcultures since then... AND NOW ALSO BY THE CONFIRMING FRIEND!!!

finally found the perfect pairs after a longlife search for them... and i had to find them all the way into Sydney....

My Influences - My Family

I have a Mole on my Skine

It all started 8 years ago, when my best friend Renata gave me this little notebook.
I had just broke up with my boyfirend back then, and was going crazy with my emotions....
So she decided I needed to write it all down.
It started as a diary, with my day to day (or sometimes hour to hour) emotions... but slowly i got over the boy, and took it with me when i went out, and i wrote down people's funny stupid sayings, their qoutes... When I heard a good track, I went over to the DJ and wrote down the name of the record ... I collected little papers from parties or drinks or from anything possible and stuck it in my notebook as a memory of my good night/day out....
Just all sorts of things....
But when my little notebook was full, I bought a new one... and a new one and a new one... untill I discovered the moleskin 4 years ago...

some history: "For two centuries now Moleskine (mol-a-skeen'-a) has been the legendary notebook of artists, writers, intellectuals and travelers. From gifted artists Henri Matisse (1869–1954) and Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890), to poet and leader of the surrealist movement AndrĂ© Breton (1896-1966) to Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) considered the most influential writer of the last century, to famous travel writer Bruce Chatwin (1940-1989).
These notebooks have proven they can withstand the trials of travel and abuses that ensues from normal use. This is the one true trusted travel journal." (

After i discoverd Ernest Hemmingway had one, I totally wanted one too.
So now i only use these little notebooks, and I love them.
I hope you love them too! But I guess by now EVERYBODY has one. If not... well... then you haven't been living on this planet.

Tuned Cars

Tuned cars are awesome.
Especially the people who drive them. The music that's being played.
The women who promote them.
The confirming friend loves it.

The Crazy Stylist

It's a stylist and it's crazy.
Why I use IT??? Well, I am part of it and my best friend Tom is the other half...
It's our imaginary friend that's inside of us. And we take it everywhere!
Oh yeah, the crazy stylist is very botoxed and doesn't speak but only uses sounds....

Sounds like I'm a nut case, but imaginary friends rule!
The confirming Friend thinks everyone should have one!

dancing you should

I love dancing. I think everyone should dance.
If you don't go out, just dance in your living room to music you like.
Jump around and see it as an excercise! Burning those calories.
Sing along and make sure you use the bass button on your stereo... you want to hear your music like its supposed to be:
LOUD and good pumping beats, drums, bass!
